what is a capture squad?

JM's solo work and early recordings that include collaborations with musicians from the Mississippi Delta and in and around Atlanta.

Although a lot of the early Capture Squad releases are hard to get into on the first listen (and maybe even the 10th for some people) you can definitely hear the progression of the band and quality of output over the years.  Due to the lack of audio equipment the releases sound like rough demos but have a charm like an early Guided by Voices record, low-fi bliss.
