3PCO
"One Night Stand"
LIVE Session 11/23/03 @ Casa De La Loper
This is the first edition of FROM THE VAULT. For your enjoyment I've dug up a live 3PCO disc of a practice session from November of 2003. Below is a breakdown song by song of the set complete with streaming audio (you can also download the entire album from below).
STOMP YO FOOTS
The opening track is an instrumental from "Electric Badge". PURE ROCK!!!
MCKINLEY WATERS
Pop rock non-sense. This song was originally recorded for a Capture Squad album but 3PCO adopted it and made it it's own. I wrote the lyrics while we were recording demos in a friend's barn. They had all this old memorabilia hung up everywhere. The center piece was a live Muddy Waters album (a sealed copy).
WEST COAST FOLLOWERS
Originally a Dig song written from headlines taken out of the local newspaper. My favorite is... "Did you hear what they done? A meth lab in the corn! And while fleaing on foot, they got caught for what they took."
CDEE'S
A rock'n instrumental that was on "Electric Badge". The chords are the name C & D. I love the bass on this one.
WAR BETWEEN THE FALCONS & BATS
A bluesy number that was intended to be a very playful/wismical stomp. Originally on "Ladies & Gentlemen... The Dig".
MOST ANNOYING SONG IN THE WORLD
We just loved the riff and turned it into a song. Originally on "Electric Badge".
THAT'S THE WAY THE BLUES GROWS
My Neil Young/Cortez the Killer rip off... I had 12 verses to this song, like a Dylan tune. Originally a Dig song released on "Ladies & Gentlemen..."
SPECKELEDBEDORIA
I know there's a great story behind the name but I can't remember!
RAZOR SWEARS
A dark tune about addiction. Originally on "Electric Badge".
I WILL BE AROUND
This one wasn't complete... as you can tell. I hadn't really worked out the lyrics and structure yet. It's a good demo, you get the feel for what I wanted.
BRONCHITUS IS A BITCH
Yes, I actually had bronchitus when I wrote this one. You should here the demo... I had lost my voice! This was an "Electric Badge" B-Side that was released on the "Plastic Motor" EP.
ROCK SONG
Instrumental. Love the drums on this one. Originally released on "Wh@t the Hell" EP.
